ENGRAVING WORKSHOPS

Introductory course

3/4 hours

Explanation of the drypoint and etching techniques. A matrix will be engraved using the drypoint technique, inked and then printed by each of the participants.

Basic course weekend

2 days/6 hours per day

Introductory course, in-depth examination and theoretical/practical course in the direct and indirect engraving methods (drypoint and etching). Inking and printing of the engraved matrices.

Advanced course

3/5 days 6 hours per day

Basic course, in-depth examination and theoretical/practical course in the direct and indirect engraving methods (drypoint, etching, aquatint, soft ground etching etc). Inking and printing of the engraved matrices.

Workshop on-site

1- or 2-day personalized classes on-site are available on demand in Eastern Finnmark, for those who cannot visit Kongsfjord Atelier, but are interested in trying out the direct techniques of engraving.
Using a small and portable engraving press, they will be able to create and print their own engravings on-site.
These workshops are intended for groups, art associations and schools.

All the courses include: materials, tools and a pamphlet containing information on the different techniques and history.
